Art & Soul.

About

WHO IS SHE: By profession, she is a healthcare executive. By past-time, she is a rock-climber, lifter, runner, and chef. But by Passion... she is an artist.

A self-taught painter, Jilly Regets has been painting and making trouble since she was a young-girl. She began with paints on walls, but has since matured (kind of), and now puts her paint on canvas.

HISTORY OF JILLYPAINTINGS: Originally, Jilly cranked out paintings as gifts over 20 years ago, for very special people in her life. Hundreds of paintings later, and she started getting unsolicited offers to buy her works. She felt uncomfortable at first, selling off her "children" to strangers... but she was running out of wall space in her apartment. So, she rolled with it... and the rest is history. Today, while she still paints gifts for loved ones, she now sells and (carefully) ships her unique paintings and prints to patrons all over the United States. Her art is revered for its "soft" and soulful quality, and poetic reflection of reality.

WHY DOES SHE PAINT?: Jilly smiles and says "Because I'd go crazy if I couldn't!" It is her meditation, her passion, and her soul's most favorite form of interpretive dance.

HOW DOES SHE PAINT?: She simply "paints what she sees." Painting is her meditation, and like a dance, she moves in time with the music when creating her special art. She finishes every work covered in notes of color.

She was powerful, not because she wasn’t scared but because she went on strongly, despite the fear.

Who is Jill Regets: By profession, she is the Chief Financial Officer for a Metal Manufacturing company in Pittsburgh, PA; she also co-owns and operates the company’s local trucking division. A lifelong athlete, now that her bones are too old for elite gymnastics, she is also an avid swimmer (shoutout to Lebanon YMCA Masters swim team!)

She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Jonathan, and their four beloved fur-children: Stanley, Arnold, Kitty, and Georgie. Despite her busy schedule, one of her favorite ways to unwind after a long day is by immersing herself in her art studio, where she gets delightfully covered in paint.

Her Artistic Journey: Art has always been a central part of her life. From a young age, she was constantly drawing and creating, using markers, chalk, crayons, and colored pencils to transform the world around her into her canvas. At the age of 11, she took up her first set of brushes and oil paints, teaching herself to paint. Although her initial attempt led to a mishap with her mom’s oriental rug (oil paints have a tendency to be quite permanent!), she soon switched to acrylics and has been passionately pursuing her art ever since.

The History of JillyPaintings: Jill began her painting journey over 25 years ago, initially creating pieces as heartfelt gifts for cherished friends and family. After producing hundreds of paintings, she started receiving offers from people interested in purchasing her artwork. Though she was initially hesitant about parting with her "children" and selling them to strangers, a lack of wall space in her apartment nudged her to embrace the idea. Since then, her art has flourished. Today, she continues to paint gifts for loved ones while also selling and carefully shipping her unique paintings and prints to patrons across the United States. Her artwork is celebrated for its “soft” and soulful quality, with a particular emphasis on trees and light.

Why Does She Paint?: She paints because it is vital to her soul’s equilibrium: "I’d go mad without it!" Painting is her meditation, passion, and her soul’s purest expression of emotion.

How Does She Paint? Jill’s approach to painting is instinctive—she simply "paints what she sees." For her, painting is akin to yoga; she moves rhythmically with the music, infusing each piece with her unique flow. By the end of a session, she is often covered from head to toe in vibrant splashes of color, embodying the very essence of her art.
